HexHex is the core of our network, and provides routing, mail and web services. The system is a dual Pentium-II 400MHz with 512MB of RAM, and a SCSI disk subsystem. Originally the s ystem had just a single 350MHz processor, but thanks to Matt and Lauri we're now running at more than twice the speed... The Operating System is FreeBSD 5.3, which has been totally reliable for us. It is connected to the rest of the world via an ADSL connection, running at 8Mb downstream and 1Mb upstream. Internally, it provides a way to the internet for the machines on the LAN. At the moment, Hex hosts the web servers for all the Athame machines, but this may change in the future.
